Plants that were not produced in Turkey before are growing here.

Minister Varank visited the “Agricultural Products Production Center of Excellence” (Tissue Culture Laboratory) established on a total area of 7 thousand square meters, 1550 square meters of which is closed, in the 2nd Organized Industrial Zone in Hendek district.

Varank, who received information about the activities from Akgün Altuğ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), visited the center and made examinations.

Varank later moved to the Greenhouse Excellence Center established by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality in Akyazı district.

Examining the tomatoes produced here, Varank offered the tomatoes he collected to the journalists.

Varank told reporters that they will officially open 43 factories and 1 logistics center that started production in Sakarya today, as well as the common use facilities they brought to Sakarya 3rd Organized Industrial Zone and the projects supported by the Ministry.

Stating that they came to the city in the early hours and visited the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Varank said, “We have established a very serious infrastructure here, especially in the field of ornamental plants, and this facility has started to produce plants that were not produced with plant culture in Turkey before.” said.

Varank stated that he later visited the greenhouse they established with the Metropolitan Municipality with the support of the development agencies affiliated to the Ministry, and that the best practices of greenhouse cultivation will also be taught to the sector and citizens at the center where tomato production is made.

Minister Varank continued his speech as follows:

“Of course, our friends may ask, “Where is the Ministry of Industry and Technology in a greenhouse? The government is confused. The Minister of Industry is participating in the tomato harvest.’ “Of course, we are not confused, but unfortunately they are not aware of which ministry is responsible for local development in Turkey. The Ministry of Industry and Technology is a ministry that evaluates the potentials of cities, districts and regions, works out the most suitable projects for these areas and implements them with local stakeholders.”

– “WE WANT TO EXPAND THESE EXAMPLES ALL OVER TURKEY”

Emphasizing that they have established one of the largest greenhouses in the region with Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, and that the industry will be trained in this business in the center, Varank said:

“Really, our friends have done a very successful job. A truck of tomatoes comes out here every day. In other words, between 15 and 20 tons of tomatoes come out throughout the year. This place is equipped with the latest technologies. As I said, it is a very efficient greenhouse that meets its heat need from underground thermal waters. “We want to spread these examples, these examples that we have made together with our local stakeholders, all over Turkey. If we want to make Turkey one of the 10 largest economies in the world, we have to produce added value. What did our municipality do here? We came together with our development agency to get this thermal water wasted underground.” He wanted to evaluate this greenhouse project. He accomplished this project together. We want to expand such investments in Sakarya. We want to make a call to the sector from here; whoever wants to do business related to greenhouse cultivation in this region, in the Marmara Region, these can be NGOs, companies may come, this Greenhouse Excellence M of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Let them see the centre. Let them get technical support from them and perform their work in the most value-added way. “

Varank stated that they believe in the potential of Sakarya and that the city, which has gained a great momentum in the industry, is also a magnificent tourism city with its nature.

Pointing out that Sakarya has also made serious breakthroughs in agriculture, Varank stated that as the Ministry, they will continue to serve with both central organizations and development agencies that support local development.
