Pioneer Ship for Central Sulawesi-Kalimantan Route Launched by Ministry of Transportation – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) inaugurated the KM Sabuk Nusantara 89 Pioneer Ship to serve inter-city and district routes in Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) and Kalimantan.

The launch of the connecting ship was carried out by the Directorate General (Dirjen) of Sea Transportation through the Class II Port Authority and Harbor Authority (KSOP) Office in Palu Bay. The route taken by the pioneer ship is Palu-Samarinda-Bontang-Ogoamas-Malala-Tolitoli-Maratua.

“KM Sabuk Nusantara 89, apart from being a means of transportation, is also expected to grow the community’s economy,” said Director of Traffic and Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Captain Hendri Ginting in a written statement as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Sunday (28/8/2022).

KM Sabuk Nusantara 89 can be used by the community as transportation for trade across cities/districts and provinces.

“In addition, this pioneer ship is a means of sea transportation that can facilitate the people of Central Sulawesi,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of KSOP Teluk Palu Mursidi said, KM Sabuk Nusantara 89 is a pioneer ship that can accommodate 450 passengers who will serve this route.

The presence of the ship is expected to facilitate access for residents who will go to small towns in Central Sulawesi and Kalimantan.

“KM Sabuk Nusantara 89 is here to improve the connectivity of the archipelago, especially in the Eastern region with relatively cheap tariffs with adequate facilities,” he said.

The KM Sabuk Nusantara 89 fare is very affordable, starting from the cheapest Rp. 5,498 for the Malala-Toli-Toli route and vice versa.

Then the highest fare is IDR 19,026 per person for the Wani-Samarinda route and vice versa.
