Peoplefone introduces web-based softphone

The VoIP provider Peoplefone Germany now has a web-based softphone on offer as an extension for its virtual telephone system.

“In many offices, in the home office and with mobile workers, a softphone solution has long been part of everyday life,” says Felix Pflüger, Managing Director Peoplefone Germany. Instead of putting a physical phone on the table for each employee, colleagues can make phone calls directly on their own computer or notebook.

The Peoplefone Softphone is now also available in Germany. In order to be able to make calls via a PC or notebook, users usually have to install special software. Not so with Peoplefone. The program now presented uses WebRTC technology and can be called up directly in the web browser. The whole thing currently works with Google Chrome, as well as all Chromium browsers (Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi) – other browsers are to follow.

The tool includes common functions, such as conference calls with up to five people. It is also possible to transfer or hold calls with and without announcing the caller. Since the solution fits seamlessly into Peoplefone’s virtual cloud telephone system, internal users can be reached via the busy lamp field (BLF). Functions such as the absence key (DND = Do Not Disturb), situation-related forwarding and answering machines can also be activated. In addition, users can transfer their company contacts to the address book with a click of the mouse and synchronize them with their own Office365 contacts.
The offer is available to all Peoplefone-Hosted customers and costs one euro per user per month in Germany.
