Prague – People over the age of 80 can start registering for the covid-19 vaccination from 08:00. Logging in is possible via the Internet at the registrations.mzcr.cz or crs.uzis.cz websites or via the telephone line 1221. If they do not have access to the Internet, they can be reported by someone close to them or with the help of a general practitioner. Registration from pharmacies could also start next week.
After entering the website, the person interested in vaccination must enter their telephone number, to which they will receive a code for entering the next part of the registration. This double verification is intended to prevent the system from being attacked by automatic computer programs. After filling it in, he will enter his name, birth number, address of permanent residence, name and code of the health insurance company, telephone number and optionally e-mail address. He can also choose a preferred vaccination center, which may not correspond to his permanent residence.
Due to the limited capacity of the centers and the expected great interest in vaccination, most people do not immediately get the date when the vaccine will be given to them. However, they will be placed in the queue according to the time of registration, and when the center lists the dates for vaccination, they will be notified via SMS that they can book them. The system then assigns them a second date immediately, 21 days after the first vaccination.
Next week, the Ministry of Health plans to allow all health professionals to log in to the registration system as well. Together with the elderly over the age of 80 and others who live in retirement homes and homes with special regimes for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, they belong to priority group 1A. Altogether, there are about 838,000 people in it, according to the vaccination strategy, they are to be vaccinated in January and February.
From February 1, all other applicants could also start to be vaccinated. The system will already prioritize them according to age, selected occupations and serious illnesses. There are over 3.7 million people in the second preferred group 1B. Then it should reach the others, probably the beginning of summer first. General practitioners should also be involved in vaccination around March.
According to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, over 169,000 doses arrived on Wednesday from Pfizer, which has been being delivered to the Czech Republic since December 26, of which 71,000 are expected this Tuesday, and a similar volume is expected next week. Another 8,400 doses came from Moderna. 70,680 people were also vaccinated by Wednesday, the data are published once a week on Thursdays. The ministry does not regularly inform about the vaccine deliveries on the website.
