Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was discharged from hospital after 6 days of hospitalization with COVID-19.

As reported BBC News Ukraine with reference to the patriarchate, Patriarch Bartholomew was suffering from COVID-19 caused by the strain Omicron.

The patriarch was vaccinated against coronavirus (received two doses of CoronaVac vaccine and then two more doses of Comirnaty from Pfizer-BioNTech).

The patriarch had mild symptoms of the disease, he continued to work all day in the hospital.

The patriarch will spend several days at home in isolation, and will return to Fanar (his residence) on January 6.

It will be recalled that on December 24, the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that 81-year-old Patriarch Bartholomew received a positive test for coronavirus.
