The Daugavpils regional hospital now has 81 coronavirus-infected patients. Over the past day, 10 cases of COVID-19 have been admitted to the Infectious Department of the hospital, and 6 people have been discharged, Grigory Semenov, a member of the DRB board of directors, said today, on February 12.
Five patients are now in critical condition in intensive care, and 7 people are in the intensive care unit.
According to Grigory Semenov, the number of patients with moderate coronavirus admitted to the hospital has noticeably decreased and the rotation of patients has become almost one and a half times less.
Nevertheless, more and more often patients with severe forms of coronavirus disease are being admitted in a rather neglected state.
– The volume of work for doctors has become less, but at the same time it has become more difficult. Now we see that more and more people are discharged from the hospital with lifelong dependence on oxygen and there will be more and more such cases. In severely ill patients, there are often only two ways out: either a chronic lack of oxygen in the future, or death.
Over the entire period of the pandemic, 958 patients with covid were discharged from the DRB and 159 deaths occurred.
