Společnost Panasonic Automotive obtained certification of the ASIL-D process according to the ISO 26262 standard using model engineering and simulation solutions of the company Ansys. Panasonic Automotive and Ansys have worked together on a systematic, model-based approach throughout the safety lifecycle to optimize standards-based functional safety analysis practices throughout the development process.

Innovations in the automotive industry in the in-cab user environment increase the complexity and functionality of embedded systems – many of which are safety-related and integral to the safety lifecycle – making it more difficult and time-consuming for engineering teams to identify all safety hazards. As a result, manufacturers are placing increasing emphasis on safety standards and compliance to ensure product safety. While these evolving industry standards help engineers identify and address risks, achieving certification through legacy processes is error prone and time consuming.
Panasonic Automotive has streamlined the analysis of functional safety throughout the development process of the new generation eCockpit with the introduction analýzy Ansys medini, which helps ensure compliance with the industry standard ISO 26262. Medini analysis provides a model approach to efficient, repeatable and consistent analytical tasks throughout the development process, which means that industry certification is taken into account at the earliest stages of design, thus shortening development time and reducing costs.
As part of the new systems approach to safety analysis, Panasonic Automotive has partnered directly with Ansys’ technical teams to create formalized training and best practices to support future process certification initiatives.
