How is it possible that a person from the corporate environment who had no experience with financial consulting has achieved success in business?
In addition to believing that it is right to invest mainly in employees, I also built my business on stable products, that is my strategy. We focused on non-life insurance products, my partner is in charge of banking products with regard to his experience, and my wife and I take care of the rest. The trust of employees and clients is the most important thing for me, thanks to which I can walk around Frýdek in peace and with a clear conscience.
How is your financial branch doing at the moment?
The area of finance has the charm that it doesn’t really matter how the economy is doing, whether there are any crises and similar issues. The average person has to deal with finances at all times, and therefore it is no different in times of coronavirus. I would even say that a certain group of otherwise very busy clients suddenly have time and are solving their financial matters with us thanks to the lockdown. Of course, the product structure changes with regard to the given situation, so currently I deal a lot with securing income and creating reserves.
How has your business currently changed?
If we are talking about the second wave, then the change was no longer as significant as in the case of the spring lockdown. We haven’t abandoned many of the established first-wave processes in the meantime, so there weren’t that many changes. Probably the most important is the opportunity to meet clients through video conferencing. Even after the first wave of the introduction of this option, some clients continued to request this type of meeting even after the measures were relaxed.
What else helped you?
Another significant change was and is the negotiation of contracts at a distance – in essence, thanks to technology, we are able to discuss 90% of clients’ requests directly via video conferencing and negotiate everything remotely. It’s an amazing thing to work really efficiently and save time on both sides. Although I personally have always preferred a personal meeting and I think that we will return to it even after coronavirus, but we will transfer many activities from the daily routine to these modern platforms – short service meetings, minor adjustments in contracts, etc.
Are you worried about the future?
As for the future, I’m not afraid. In general, I believe that those who do their job well will find their clients who will return and recommend this service. On the contrary, I perceive that the need for the services of a quality consultant will continue to grow. Thanks to legislative regulations, there is a growing need for counselors to become more and more educated, to take various exams and to work on themselves for a long time. This will lead to the “professionalization” of our field and in the long run to the improvement of the name of the financial advisor as a profession.
What would you recommend to entrepreneurs today as a financial expert?
The situation in many other fields is not easy, so it is necessary to look for possible new ways to reach clients and how to offer their services. Sometimes it wants to get out of the comfort zone, change your thinking and attitude.

Nothing has really changed here – our service is, by its nature, focused on the most important financial areas – primarily securing income and creating reserves. This is followed by other areas, where, of course, it depends on the creditworthiness of the client and his wishes and needs.
