Later, they raided a flat in Papier’s Farmgate and recovered a foreign pistol, two magazines, 20 bullets, five bottles of foreign liquor, Tk 58.41 lakh and credit and debit cards of various banks. The raid was also carried out at Papia’s house in Narsingdi.
After the arrest, RAB filed two cases against Papia and her husband at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station under the Arms and Narcotics Act. A case was also filed against them at the Airport Police Station under the Special Powers Act, 1984. And the CID filed another case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
On June 29, RAB sub-inspector Arifuzzaman filed a chargesheet in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station’s Arms and Narcotics Act case.
The couple was sentenced to 20 years in prison on October 12 in a case under the Arms Act.
