Our youth still carry the spirit of the National Struggle

As we realize the 104th anniversary of this struggle, which is the hope of the whole nation, the spirit of the National Struggle, which started with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s departure to Samsun on May 19, spread all over the country with Amasya, Erzurum, Sivas, and gave titles to Antep, Maraş and Urfa. Despite all these years, there are still young people.

This determination, will and spirit will be preserved and passed on to future generations. Our struggle for independence, in which our nation eliminated the threats against our homeland and our flag at the cost of our lives, set an example for other nations struggling to gain their independence. Declaring May 19, the symbol of our independence struggle, as Youth and Sports Day, is an indication of the importance given to young people, who are the guarantee of our future and our hope. The strength and lesson we take from the victories in our past, the excitement and accumulation of today, our determination and determination as we look to tomorrow.

On this path, we need the mind, idea, belief, desire, ability and energy of each of our young people to work together and move forward together. This holiday is one of the most important days that reminds us of all these adjectives, this country keeps itself alive and is proud of its history with its children, young people, elders and ancestors.

We see faith in our youth

We must not forget that history is not a thing of the past. It is our view of tomorrow that continues, continues, is shaped while living in it, and whose foundations are laid today. While we protect every gain we have gained from yesterday and embrace every value in this journey of history, we should not forget that ‘No will that starts with faith can never be defeated.’ It is our happiness to still see this belief in the eyes of our youth today.

We, as people who believe in guiding our young people, giving them opportunities, including them and moving forward together by believing in all these, are moving forward without forgetting this in our private lives as well as in the duties we are entrusted with. It is our sharing of the excitement of the young people, adding their strength to ourselves, which makes our households successful. We are working for you, for our future that you will shape, on this path of which each of our young people is a part.

Our guide on this path is our ancestors, who set an example to the world with our civilization, history, culture and belief. I commemorate all heroes of the War of Independence, especially Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who entrusted us with this land of paradise, with mercy, respect and gratitude. I congratulate you, our dear young people and our entire nation, on the 19th of May, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
