Tim Rock Camp for Girls with great pleasure opened the competition for a new generation of rockers! The seventh edition of the camp will be held this year in Belgrade from July 16 to 22and the competition will be open from to 11. June.
Rock camp for girls is a non-profit program aimed at girls aged 11 to 14 from all parts of Serbia who are interested in rock music. During the seven days of the camp, the participants will learn the basics or improve playing the electric guitar, bass guitar, drums or keyboards, as well as sound recording and concert production. During the camp, bands will be formed that will perform at the final concert in Belgrade. A team of ten dedicated young musicians who are active on the domestic music scene will work with the participants.
For participation in the camp, girls’ musical education is not crucial, nor is having their own instrument. It is only necessary for the girl to be musical and have a sense of rhythm, emphasizes the Femix Collective, which has been organizing this program since 2017.
Girls up to 15 years of age can apply for the music production section, as well as girls who have already participated in the Rock Camp for Girls. At the music production workshop, the girls can first of all learn how to record sound in one of the dedicated programs, and then they will learn how to cover what they have recorded, that is, they will learn the basics of mixing and mastering. Through this workshop, the girls will learn how to record and create a finished product – that is, a complete composition or song, which are skills that can be used in various fields nowadays.

In addition to instrument workshops and joint rehearsals, the program also includes workshops on singing, writing texts, composing, as well as familiarization with musical and technical equipment. In addition to music workshops, a series of workshops on topics such as self-confidence, stage performance, communication skills, as well as discussions about the experiences of active female musicians, women’s history in music and music journalism will be held within the camp.
The organizers of the Rock Camp for Girls especially invite girls who want to engage in rock music or create their own songs of any genre, but have not had the opportunity to develop that interest or differ in some way from the majority.
