The Rovaccinare platform allows, starting with the evening of Monday, September 27, the programming of those who want to be vaccinated with the third dose of the anti-COVID serum.
The Special Telecommunications Service (STS) has completed the implementation of the new functionalities and the necessary optimizations.
Here is what the authorities say about the programming procedure:
“Appointments can be made to administer the booster dose with one of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, in vaccination centers that administer these two types of vaccine.
The first day of vaccination with the third dose is September 28, 2021.
There are two conditions for booster vaccination:
1. Two doses of vaccine given;
2. 180 days after the second dose.
Thus, all persons vaccinated against COVID-19 with two doses (complete or heterologous) and for whom 180 days have passed since the complete schedule can be scheduled in the platform https://programare.vaccinare-covid.gov.ro for booster administration.
Regardless of whether the first two doses were administered by platform scheduling
or directly in the vaccination center, all persons who meet the two conditions are
can program for booster dose.
Steps for platform programming for the third dose:
1. Log in to the platform https://programare.vaccinare-covid.gov.ro through
entering the e-mail / CNP and password;
2. Select the “Beneficiaries” section:
a. For existing beneficiaries in the account you only need to access
the “Program for booster dose” icon;
b. For new beneficiaries, access the “Add beneficiary” button, fill in the necessary data, and at the end access the “Schedule for booster dose” icon;
3. Choose the vaccination center with the type of vaccine you want (Pfizer or Moderna), date,
time slot, view the schedule summary and complete
4. Finally, go to the “My appointments” section to view the schedule,
respectively for editing or canceling it.
Validation of the fulfillment of the conditions for the administration of the booster dose se
performed by querying the National Electronic Vaccination Register (RENV), where
all vaccinated persons in Romania are registered;
Regardless of the status of the first two appointments in the platform, they can be done
appointments for the third dose, if the above two conditions are met
Two doses are considered, both for people who have taken dose I and dose II
with one of the Pfizer, Moderna or Astra Zeneca vaccines, as well as for people
who made dose I with one of the three vaccines, and dose II, depending on
medical recommendations, with another type of vaccine among those mentioned.
At this time, people vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson vaccine are not
eligible for booster dose administration.
Dose 3 is strongly recommended:
people at high risk of developing severe forms – vulnerable people:
those over 65, with chronic diseases (regardless of age), people in the centers
medical and social care and other vulnerable categories provided for in the national strategy of
people at high risk of exposure: medical-social and educational staff.
Access to vaccination is also allowed to other population groups, which have at least 6
months after receiving the 2nd dose of the vaccine, regardless of whether they have a history of going through
The booster dose will only be given with messenger RNA vaccines,
regardless of the initial scheme. Thus, people vaccinated with Astra Zeneca will receive
dose 3 with one of the vaccines produced by Pfizer & BioNTech or
Nail wax (Modern).
Considering that in Romania the immunization with Johnson & Johnson started on the 4th
May, for persons immunized with this vaccine it is not necessary, at this time, to
administration of the booster dose. Details of this recommendation will be set out in
the next period, as new scientific data become available.
Appointment of people for booster dose (dose 3)
It will be done through the means already known, including through direct presentation in vaccination centers or through the national vaccination scheduling platform.
For persons in medical and social centers and residential, immobilized at home or
homeless, the same vaccination method will be used, respectively with the help of teams
mobile phones provided by the county / municipality public health directorates
Beneficiaries will receive vaccination certificates specifying the vaccination schedule,
mentioning the three doses performed.
We reiterate to citizens the need and importance of vaccination against COVID-19 for all
persons over 12 years of age, in individual and public health interest, by reduction
severe cases and deaths.
Vaccination remains the safe and effective solution to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, and
the vaccines used in Romania are authorized by the European Medicines Agency
(EMA), the most rigorous decision-making body, bringing together experts at European level.
CNCAV ensures the population full transparency and full accountability in
prompt communication of all information of interest, so that the process of
vaccination to be carried out in a favorable and safe environment for all persons who
want to be immunized against COVID-19. “
