connect verdict: good (407 points)

It shows on the outside North 2T 5G unspectacular – in a positive sense. Its matte, minimally roughened plastic back has a good grip and finger marks are largely concealed. The haptics of 6.4-inch-model can despite the 191 Gramm Weight and the noticeably protruding camera element are convincing processing is all around immaculate.

The mid-range representative has to do his job as a constant companion without IP proof cope with the increased resistance to dust and water. In return, the OLED display is doubly protected: the factory-applied protective film and Gorilla Glass 5. As usual with Oneplus, the volume rocker is on the left, leaving space for the alert slider to mute the ringtones on the right.

On in the display integrated fingerprint sensor is also becoming increasingly popular in the 500-euro league. Oneplus moves with the times and also releases the screen using this convenient method. Second biometric unlock variant is the 2D face recognition. The OLED display satisfies with the high pixel density of 409 ppi and one up 90 Hertz increaseable refresh rate the price-related expectations of sharpness and freedom from flickering of the display.

The smartphones with the best reception

Reception is about more than whether you have network. Connection speed and voice quality also depend on a good wireless connection.

Capture precious holiday memories in appropriate quality? An easy exercise for the 50-MP main camera With optical image stabilization (OIS). In the camera laboratory test, the wide-angle lens of the Nord 2T was particularly convincing. Also the selfie quality of the Punchhole-Front camera With 32-MP-Sensor and electronic image stabilization we liked it.

Competitive system chip and large memory

With the Dimensity 1300, the beat and working tempo are up-to-date Mediatek-Systemchip before. Compared to the 1200 predecessor that powers the older Nord 2, slightly improved numbers in the graphics benchmarks show that gaming performance has gained a little. Overall, the computing power is on a solid mid-range level.

Our tested Nord 2T model boasts a whopping 12 GB of RAM and around 231 GB of freely available flash memory, and thus raises the bar in our test field. That the card slot two nano SIMsbut no microSD is easier to get over than with the model for 399 euros, which comes with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash ROM.

In interaction with the Mediatek chipset, the software team Android 12 and Oxygen OS steer super fast. As usual, the user interface is high-performing and tidy. It also offers extras such as file safes and access locks for apps. The numerous personalization options also include an individually adjustable one Always-on-Display. Oneplus promises security updates for three years and two Android upgrades.

Coming to the audio department: the sound from the stereo speakers is still acceptable, a Audio connection is missing. Hi-Res codecs such as aptX-HD and LDAC can increase music quality over wireless headphones.

Oneplus Nord 2T + Nord CE 2 Lite | Mid-range with lots of power

Quelle: connect Tech Channel

OnePlus has introduced two new mid-range smartphones. The OnePlus Nord 2T and the Nord CE 2. What do the two new models have to offer? We look at that in the video.

With 5G, LTE with download rates up to 1,2 Gbit/s, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and Wi-Fi 6 the Nord 2T largely exhausts the respective radio standards. The measured WLAN data throughputs are definitely impressive. Although via cable nur USB 2.0 is supported, the average transmission speed is just under 45 Mbit/s. And the persistence? Not outstanding though very good. Of the Dual-Cell- Akku with the total capacity of 4500 mAh lasts 11:49 hours with 90 Hz refresh rate. The enclosed power adapter With 80 Watt delivers fresh energy in no time at all.

Too low LTE transmission power, strong overall result

In the test lab, they led low LTE radiation power – especially above 800 and 2600 MHz – to point deductions. Apart from that, the Oneplus Nord 2T can easily play at the front with its strengths.

Oneplus Nord 2T in the camera test

The photographic equipment of the Nord 2T is the same as in the predecessor Nord 2 5G: an 8 MP super wide-angle module and a wide-angle camera of 50 megapixels.

The wide angle camera

The main camera has one QUAD-Sensor and thus leaves the choice between 50 or 12 megapixels (pixel binning). Overall, the quality of the 12 MP images is higher across all three light levels – only one point is missing for the overall rating “very good”. Curiously, the 50-megapixel recordings are just ahead in the dark.

When there is a lot of light (5000 lux), the JPEG photos with 12 megapixels are very well defined and are somewhat finer than the photos with 50 megapixels. The 50 MP resolution could also be interesting for portraits, as these photos look less overdrawn.

With dwindling light (200 lux), the Oneplus only drops a little and can just keep the “very good” mark. But now the signal processing intervenes more to make the images look crisper through resharpening and more contrast. In the dark (5 lux) the image quality falls below the “good” limit, now the 50 MP photos are even slightly better. They show a bit more details – which are also reproduced in an alienated way. The losses in the 12 MP recordings are greater despite the strong interventions.

Oneplus Nord 2T in the camera test
The 50 MP JPEGs (2) show no more detail than the 12 MP photos (1) in bright light, but appear less sharpened and are therefore good for portraits. Otherwise, the maximum resolution is hardly worth it in bright light. As the light fades, the 12 MP photos are clearly ahead. The 8 MP sensor of the super wide-angle module does not manage to deliver an adequate resolution even under the best conditions (3).

The double zoom

The wide-angle camera is also responsible for zooms, but it then sensibly saves images with only 12 megapixels. Compared to the wide-angle module, the loss of quality is clear – in total, the double zoom is “satisfactory” across all three light levels. With a lot of light, it just climbs onto the “good” podium and can still be used with restrictions. In low light and especially in the dark, however, the losses are too great.

The super wide angle module

With the super wide-angle module, Oneplus uses the cheap solution and only achieves a “sufficient” bottom line. In bright light, the 8 MP images are still usable for some subjects. Although the resolution is low and the edges are partially overpainted, it’s still enough for panorama snapshots. In low light and especially in the dark, this camera delivers photos that are too weak to be a photographic option.

Conclusion camera test Oneplus Nord 2T

The Oneplus Nord 2T offers a good wide angle module, which is very good in high and low light with 12 MP resolution. As a short double zoom, the camera can only be used sensibly in good light, and even then only just “good”. The super wide-angle module is even weaker: It is only recommended in bright light – with restrictions.
