OnePlus Introduces Nord CE 5G – Released June 21

OnePlus is back with a new mid-range phone: North CE 5G. The manufacturer wants to offer most of what can be desired in a smartphone, but for a lower price.

Nord CE, or “Core Edition”, is equipped with a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 +. OnePlus has not unexpectedly continued to put the fingerprint reader under the panel.

The phone is powered by the eight-core 8nm chip Snapdragon 750 and can be purchased with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The battery has a capacity of 4500mAh and can be quickly charged over the Warp Charge 30T Plus. Charging the battery from an empty level to 70 percent takes 30 minutes according to OnePlus’ press release.

To extend battery life, OnePlus, like many other manufacturers, avoids charging 100 percent until the final stage, if the phone is charged overnight, for example. For photography and video recording, a 64MP main camera and a 119 degree super wide angle camera are offered.

The third rear camera is not mentioned in the Swedish press release, but it looks like a less interesting depth camera with 2MP. In the front of the camera island is a 16MP sensor. Some still appreciate the classic headphone output and Nord CE offers one.

The plastic construction is relatively thin with a depth of 7.9 millimeters and the unit weighs 170 grams. OnePlus promises two years of OS updates and three years of security updates. The phone can be purchased from OnePlus’ website and from retailers such as NetOnNet and Elgiganten from 21 June.

The entry-level model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs SEK 3,290. Those who want 8GB of RAM have to pay SEK 200 extra, while the top model with 12GB of working memory and 256GB of storage costs SEK 4,290.
