One of the oldest, listed school buildings in Budapest is being transformed

One of the largest complex architectural preservation projects in the capital, the HomeWork project, which preserves the architectural values ​​of the Margit Boulevard listed school building, reached the state of readiness at the end of February. More than 50 percent of the apartments are already sold out, office leases are underway, and the developer is in advanced negotiations with several tenants.

Codic Hungary started the rehabilitation of a 140-year-old classic school building on the corner of Margit Boulevard and Rómer Flóris Street in May, 2020, with an investment of more than 20 million euros. The mixed-use development will reconstruct the entire façade of the building, partially remodel and expand the spaces, and create a significant 1,300-square-foot green space with a combination of an interior garden and green roof.

On the two upper floors of the building, 15 premium apartments will be created, and on the lower floors, spacious, flexible office space will be created. The average rent for offices will be 22 euros per square meter per month, and 1.8-2.2 million forints per square meter of apartments.
