Prague – The chairman of the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement, Tomio Okamura, and President Miloš Zeman will discuss the current political situation, including negotiations between parliamentary parties on the form of a pandemic law. The SPD supports the targeting of measures to risk groups without declaring a state of emergency. Like other parties, he wants to enforce parliamentary control in the pandemic law, but also the government’s obligation to propose compensations and the need for proper justification of measures.
Since Monday, the SPD has been trying to gather signatures to convene an extraordinary meeting of the Chamber of Deputies to lift the newly declared state of emergency. Okamura also plans to propose the abolition of the state of emergency at Thursday’s sitting of deputies, which, according to him, should also help to find out what the proportions of votes in the Chamber of Deputies are.
