Oil call from Volodymyr Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski also made evaluations about the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine in his speech at the international forum on “grain from Ukraine” held in the capital Kiev.

Zelenski, who made the opening speech of the forum, which was attended by the Prime Ministers of Belgium, Poland and Lithuania and the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, stated that he was pleased that the forum took place in Kiev.

Stating that Russia’s war in Ukraine on February 24 caused many people to be hungry and thirsty, Zelenski said, “We will not allow millions of people in the world to be hungry and thirsty.”

Pointing out that Ukraine is one of the most important countries that export grain products to the world, Zelenski said that they continue to send grain products to various countries despite all the difficulties in order to avoid a hunger crisis in the world.

Stating that thanks to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, ships loaded with millions of tons of grain products are now leaving the Ukrainian ports in order to prevent the global hunger crisis, Zelenski said, “So far, nearly 500 ships have left our ports. This means 12 million tons of agricultural products for 40 countries of the world and all societies.

Zelenski stated that he thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres for their important contributions to the creation of the Black Sea grain corridor.

In addition, Zelenskiy stated that they created the “Grain from Ukraine” initiative to support countries in need of assistance.

  • Under the Grain from Ukraine program, we plan to send at least 60 ships, 10 per month, from our ports, to countries at risk of famine and drought, by the end of next spring.

Zelenski stated that the European Union countries are trying to prepare new sanctions to reduce the price of Russian oil up to $65 a barrel, but this is not enough and said, “Russia will gain tens of billions. We want the sanctions to be effective and the limits (price cap) to be 30-40 dollars so that Russia can feel them.” said.

Speaking at the forum, other leaders expressed their support for Ukraine against Russia.
