OECD area grew in the third quarter

In the OECD area, in the third quarter of this year, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded by 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter, exceeding the pre-Kovid-19 level for the first time.

The third quarter growth data of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) were announced. Accordingly, the growth in the OECD region, which was 1.7 percent in the second quarter of this year, was 0.9 percent in the third quarter of the year.

Although GDP in the OECD area expanded more slowly than in the second quarter, it rose above pre-COVID-19 levels for the first time in the third quarter of 2021. This was due to the strong performance seen in the OECD region, the USA, South Korea, Israel and some European countries.

In the calculation made on the basis of provisional data, growth in Japan, one of the major economies, fell from 0.4 percent to minus 0.8 percent in the same period, recording a significant decline.

Compared to the second quarter of this year, the growth rate in the third quarter decreased from 1.6 percent to 0.5 percent in the USA, from 1.9 percent to 1.8 percent in Germany, and from 1.3 percent in France. rose to 3.

While the growth, which was 2.7 percent in Italy in the second quarter of the year, fell to 2.6 percent in the third quarter, the growth in Canada increased from 0.3 percent to 0.5 percent. In the said period, growth in the European Union (EU) rose from 2 percent to 2.1 percent and from 2.1 percent to 2.2 percent in the Euro Zone.
