Nvidia stopped MSI from selling its GeForce RTX 3060 Ti SUPER 3X card

A new graphics card has recently appeared in China and Taiwan MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X. However, Nvidia did not like such a label, which asked MSI to withdraw the product from sale. The problem here is the word SUPER. Nvidia used this moniker for some of its cards (e.g. RTX 2060 SUPER), and the card from MSI could use it to evoke the fact that the new RTX 3060 Ti SUPER series appeared, i.e. something above the RTX 3060 Ti model. But that’s not true, it’s basically a standard RTX 3060 Ti, only equipped with GDDR6X memory with 19Gbps chips instead of the standard 14Gbps.

MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X

Such graphics cards with faster memory began to appear in October last year, one of the first to offer it was Asus. In the case of MSI, it is first and foremost a wonder why the card was named the way it was. MSI has its own series with the similar name SUPRIM X, and even this problematic model had the cooling of this series. MSI should have tried to change the name of the cards to SUPER3X (join the last two words together), but it didn’t work either. If a few cards did get to some customers, they will have quite a rarity at home.
