Long spotted in various leaks in recent months, and after the RTX 3060 Ti launched in December, here’s coming to Nvidia a new Ampere graphics card GeForce RTX 3060.
Announced for CES 2021, it is accompanied by 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and its GPU, not announced but which should be the GA106, allows to double the performance compared to a GTX 1060 in rasterization and to multiply by 10 the ray tracing capacities.
It should offer performance close to an RTX 2070 (or even RTX 2070 Super) and it provides processing powers of 13 teraflops (shaders), 25 teraflops (RT) and 101 teraflops (tensor).
The RTX 3060 offers 3584 CUDA hearts (against 4864 for the RTX 3060 Ti) with a boost frequency of 1.78 GHz, with 12 GB of GDDR6 and a 192-bit memory bus, all for a consumption of 170W (against 200W for the RTX 3060 Ti).
Nvidia does not yet reveal all the secrets of the characteristics of the RTX 3060 but the firm already announces availability in February 2021 for a price of 329 euros. Capable of managing RTX On and DLSS, its ambition is to allow a large number of players who have remained in GTX to renew their equipment … on condition that they manage to acquire it!
