Nottingham Forest loan Atletico Madrid defender Renan Lodi – English Premier League club Nottingham Forest have completed the transfer of Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old has also signed a new contract with Atletico until 2026 before being loaned out by the Premier League-promoted club.

Lodi says he wants to get more playing time at Nottingham and hopes to be called up to the Brazil national team bitch for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“I want to write my name into the history of the club,” he told Nottingham Forest’s official website on Monday.

He also wants to help Nottingham stay in the Premier League next season.

“My main goal is also to go to the World Cup, represent Nottingham Forest with the Brazilian national team and on the world stage. This club shows total belief in me and I want to give something to them too.”

Lodi himself has made 15 appearances for the Samba side, but he has yet to feature for Atletico Madrid this season.

With Atletico, he won the 2020-21 LaLiga title and scored the winner against Manchester United in the last 16 of the Champions League earlier this year.

Nottingham Forest currently sit 14th in the Premier League standings with four points from their opening four matches.
