Minor Giving antibiotics on your own to children in distress can be dangerous. A recent study by the US-based Mayo Clinic revealed that children who are given antibiotics at the age of two are more likely to develop asthma, eczema and other allergies in the future. Researchers have come to this conclusion after taking stock of records related to the health of 14500 children. Of these, 70 per cent were given antibiotics at the age of less than two years. They found a direct link between antibiotic use at an early age and an increased risk of chronic diseases (asthma, eczema, flu, obesity, loss of concentration, aggression).

According to lead researcher Nathan Lee Braser, the antibiotic has been made from fighting bad bacteria. However, often they also destroy the good bacteria present in the stomach and intestine, reducing the body’s ability to fight harmful infections. The job of an antibiotic is to kill bacteria. They have no role in the fight against viruses or fungi. However, doctors also extensively recommend the use of antibiotics for the treatment of viral infections. Due to this harmful bacteria take the form of superbugs. That is, they develop resistance against the antibiotic.

These could be dangers
Antibodies made to eliminate bad bacteria also kill good bacteria
The body’s ability to fight infection decreases, there is also a risk of superbugs growing
