Not only politicians, but also a number of organizations demand the resignation of Prime Minister Karins

A number of member organizations of the Council for Demographic Issues and old NGOs are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins, according to a letter sent to the media by the Family Association.

A week ago, the Hungarian parliament approved a bill banning educational programs and materials promoting homosexuality, non-biological gender identity and gender reassignment among minors.

Among other things, the law also prohibits children and young people from accessing books and films depicting sexual minorities. The rules are part of a broader package that includes tougher penalties for sexual crimes against children and young people, as well as the creation of a “register of pedophiles,” the letter says.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Latvia Krisjanis Karins without a delegation from the government and the Latvian public, he signed a document at a meeting of ministers for European affairs condemning the new Hungarian law and calling on the EU to file a lawsuit against Hungary in an EU court.

“The Hungarian Parliament supported this new law with more than an overwhelming majority, thereby expressing the will of the Hungarian people. We emphasize that he was democratically elected! We can envy Hungarian families because politicians and heads of state led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban really care not only about demographics and families, but also about the safety of children.

Over the past decade, Hungary has set an example for Latvia in carrying out demographic and family policy, so that a demographic winter does not come and the nation does not die out. Our patience for the actions of Mr. Karins is exhausted. Mr. Karins, as chairman of the Council on Demographic Issues, never convened meetings of this council on his own initiative, but at the same time, when the members of this council called him, he suggested that only these council meetings be convened four times less often – only one once a year.

Karins also did not congratulate the Latvian families on the International Day of the Family. Now he has embarrassed our country at the international level, ”says Ilona Bremze, head of the Family Association, which serves on the Demographic Council, which is directly responsible for the Prime Minister.

Leonid Mucenieks, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Association of Large Families, emphasizes that Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins did not receive a mandate to sign the document on behalf of the entire Latvian society:

“The Prime Minister has given himself too large a mandate, he has no right to speak on behalf of the Latvian society. To express such a harsh condemnation of the Hungarian state at the international level and to join the ranks of LGBT + ideologists, the Prime Minister had to appeal to our people and their elected representatives in the Seimas.

The Constitution continues to firmly affirm that sovereign power belongs to the people of Latvia. It is regrettable that Mr. Karinsh clearly violated the Constitution both in spirit and in letter. Our Fatherland deserves a leader who shows respect for every child, his family and all the people! Those who do not bend boldly stand for the values specified in the Constitution, as well as for our families and overcoming the demographic crisis. “

“We would like to emphasize that the law passed by the Hungarian Parliament concerns children and young people under the age of 18. For children and youth! To protect against propaganda of homosexuality and reckless gender reassignment, which can have irreversible consequences for the future of young people. Therefore, it is unacceptable for us the position when such a bill is called a shame, as stated by EU President Ursula von der Leyen.

On the contrary, the attitude of adult politicians to the protection of children and youth is of concern. The Latvian law on the protection of the rights of the child also states that “a child, as a physically and intellectually immature person, needs special protection and care”, therefore, Latvian politicians should set an example and follow Latvian laws, and not interfere in the internal affairs of another country, expressing their opinion about other people’s regulations, ”explains Ira Jekabsone, representative of the Association“ Alliance of Parents.

In connection with the above, non-governmental organizations demand the resignation of Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins from the post of head of government, indicated at the end of the letter.
