Skopje. Goran Pandev announced on Thursday that he is ending his football career.

39-year-old Pandev can look back on a career that spanned over two decades. He is the top scorer for North Macedonia.

38 goals in 122 games were added to the national team, which reached the EC finals in 2021. He played his last international match against the Netherlands on that occasion.

– I look back and it still doesn’t seem real. It has been an incredible journey. A beautiful chapter now ends. I carry a lot of fantastic baggage of emotions and so on, writes Pandev on Instagram.

Most of career spent in Italy for Lazio, Napoli, Genoa and Inter.

It was Inter who discovered Pandev and signed him as an 18-year-old.

He was part of the Inter team that won The Treble in 2010 under coach José Mourinho. The team won both Serie A, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia in the same season.

Among other things, Pandev has also played for Turkish Galatasaray, and last season he played for Parma in the Italian Serie A.
