Nissan Tiida hatchback improved slightly for China market – DRIVE

The roof and pillars can now be black and contrast with the main body color. Instead of round fog lights, LED “garlands” of running lights appeared in the front bumper. Nothing else has changed in appearance. The dimensions are the same: 4393 × 1766 × 1539 mm, wheelbase – 2700.

The “second” Nissan Tiida, which appeared on the Chinese market in 2011, came to Europe under the name Pulsar, but was discontinued two years ago due to low demand. In Russia, the five-door was offered from 2015 as Tiida (AvtoVAZ assembled it in Izhevsk), but did not gain success and disappeared in 2016 …

Meanwhile, in the Middle Kingdom, Tiida is doing well: in 2017, 78,712 units were sold, in 2018 – 59,738, in 2019 – 76,195. On July 2, an updated hatchback appeared on the window at prices ranging from 99,900 to 135,900 yuan (1.008–1.37 million rubles). A modest reform brought a two-tone color, an improved media system and new defenses.

The only innovation in the cabin is the Nissan Connect media center, devoid of physical buttons. It is believed that an eight-inch touchscreen and voice commands are enough to control. Software is updated “over the air.” There is integration of smartphones and remote diagnostics.

The safety system has been supplemented by CTA (warning about interference when reversing), LDW (row control), BSW (blind spot monitoring), IEB (auto-braking). The power unit has not changed: a gasoline aspirated 1.6 (122 hp, 155 N • m) is available with a five-speed “mechanics” and an Xtronic variator. The two-pedal hatchback accelerates to hundreds in 12.1 s. Maximum speed – 179 km / h. Consumption – 5.2-5.3 l / 100 km.
