Nio ET7, the Chinese car with the solid state battery

Nio is the company that was founded in 2014 and is defined as the Chinese Tesla, manufacturer of electric cars. Among the latest innovations of the House is the Nio ET7, the newly developed zero-emission sedan, which brings a very interesting innovation and only on the automotive market.

The car will be launched in China at a starting price of 56.800 euro and will be the first ever to have one solid state battery from 150 kWh. The all-new Nio ET7 electric sedan will arrive on the market with the innovative battery, with a density of 360 Wh / kg, a value that exceeds by 50% that of the 100 kWh battery packs used today). The latest generation battery will also be able to count on a range that exceeds 1,000 km (in the NEDC cycle). The launch of the car is expected at the end of 2022, when the versions with the usual lithium-ion batteries that we are used to seeing on electric cars, 70 and 100 kWh, with autonomy of 500 and 700 km will also arrive on the market.

The new Nio ET7 is equipped with a permanent magnet motor capable of delivering 244 HP in the front and another induction motor with a power of 407 HP in the rear, for a total power of 652 hp and a formidable sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

The size of the new Chinese electric sedan are 509 cm in length, 198 cm in width, 150 cm in height, with a wheelbase of 306 cm. As for the aesthetics, we note a sloping roof line, thin LED headlights and a closed grille at the front, a scenographic optical group instead on the back, which extends to its full length.

Taking a look at the interior instead we immediately notice the modern character of the car, heated and ventilated front and rear seats and with massage function. The multimedia system with 12.8 ” Amoled screen extends vertically, positioned in the center of the dashboard. The Nio ET7 boasts the presence ofAquila Super Sensing, the new system of semi-automatic driving conforms to level 3. The car has 33 sensors, capable of processing 6 GB of data, processed by an on-board computer called ADAM. A computing unit seven times more powerful than Tesla’s autopilot, or at least these are the statements of the Chinese house.
