Volkswagen is preparing a refresh of the Golf-based T-Roc, and these are spy shots that reveal the look of the car in an R variant without camouflage. The car passes the final tests before the premiere.

Stylistic changes are minimal. The front end got a new mask with one bar and a revised design with thicker chrome moldings in the upper segment.

The lights are still integrated with the mask and are slightly restyled with the new look of LED lamps within the matrix system. The lower part of the bumper has also been redesigned, together with a high-gloss black horizontal bar.

The recorded car retains the sharp lines on the bonnet and sides like the current model, but has been given a new rim design. Exterior mirrors with extended turn signal housings have also been revised. the distinctive chrome trim over the C-pillar has also been retained.

The rear light groups have been darkened and slightly redesigned, which brings them closer to the solution from the Golf 8. The lower part of the bumper also underwent minor changes, which also received larger side intakes. Four pipes of the exhaust system are integrated in the bumper.

The two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine is expected to be replaced by a unit from the current Golf R, which produces 320hp and 420Nm. Power will be transmitted to all wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches.
