Finn Möhring is the new Vice President for technology and development in Weibel Scientific.
He has been on the board of the radar company for the past three years and comes from a long career at Demant, where he has led technology development on a global level.
Weibel’s Doppler radars set international standards, and all development and production down to the smallest parts takes place at the head office in Allerød.
In his new role, Finn Möhring is responsible for ensuring that Weibel continues to be two steps ahead of the competition with market-leading technology that is used in defense, aerospace and the protection of critical infrastructure worldwide.
“I am deeply passionate about technology, which is why I find it difficult to imagine a more exciting company than Weibel. The largest defense companies in the world look to Weibel for the best in radar technology, and as far as I’m concerned, I’m stepping from the boardroom into operations at the very best time. Weibel has owners and management who are more than usual committed and ambitious, and we are in the middle of a growth plan where we must make even more technological breakthroughs. I am very much looking forward to helping drive that forward,” says Finn Möhring, new Vice President Technology at Weibel Scientific.
Weibel is currently on a growth journey, which should more than double revenue to one billion kroner in five years. Central to the growth is the exploitation of a technological lead in the explosively growing market for monitoring and protecting the airspace, where Weibel is experiencing a strong increase in demand for their new radar for monitoring drones.
“I am proud that we can attract such an experienced and strong profile as Finn. He draws on decades of management experience in innovation and development of high-tech solutions and combines it with a deep entrepreneurial spirit, which is very defining for Weibel. On behalf of both Weibel and our customers, Finn will be the standard bearer of our belief that nothing is impossible within the framework of physics,” says Frode Scott Nilsen, CEO of Weibel Scientific.
Finn Möhring takes up the position from a long managerial career in technology development and quality assurance at Nokia and at the hearing giant Demant, most recently as Senior Vice President for R&D Hearing Instruments, with responsibility for several hundred employees across national borders.
