The Volkswagen Group has begun its renewal of the small B-segment. After the spy photos we had shown you in recent months, the new Skoda Fabia is ready to be announced.
The Czech house has published a preview image that reveals the proportions of the new compact. The new Fabia anticipates the restyling of the Volkswagen Polo expected in the coming months.
More space for suitcases
The image showcases the profile of the Fabia and the LED lights that appear to be inspired by Skoda’s latest models. According to the spy photos, the front should resume the family feeling of Skoda with the large grille and thinner LED headlights. In the rear, instead, optical groups with horizontal development similar to those of the Kamiq and Scala should make their debut.
The fourth generation of the Fabia is developed on the MQB-A0 platform which allows for better habitability. The larger dimensions of the car translate into an increase of 50 liters for the boot for a total of 380 liters.
The architecture is more rigid and allows you to make better use of the driving assistance systems already present on the higher segment Skodas.
1.0 TSI confirmed
The new Skoda will make its debut in the list with TSI petrol engines (all Euro 6d approved) combined with a 7-speed manual or automatic DSG gearbox. Under the hood we should therefore find the 1.0 95 and 110 hp. There will be no space, however, for the diesel variants that have also been removed in the current model list.
Later (we think towards the end of 2022 or early 2023) the wagon version should also debut, which will be offered with the same engines. More information, however, we will have in the course of spring when the Fabia is officially presented.
