New price increase for the Dacia Duster, Sandero and Spring

This is not the first price increase for the constructor Romanian. Already last year, prices had increased on several models of Dacia, the low-cost subsidiaries of Renault. And at the beginning of the month, it’s the small electric city car, the Spring, which saw its price inflate by €1,000!

Soaring prices for low-cost models

The Dacia manufacturer had to face, like all the other manufacturers, significant increases in component prices as well as raw materials.

And this has had a direct impact on prices. If we look at the brand’s two flagship models, the Sandero which is sold from 10 790 euros and the SUV Duster, accessible from 15,490 euros, they have both undergone an increase of 500 € on average since January 1st.

The latest, the 7-seater minivan Jogger sold from 15,490 euros € recorded an increase of more than 500 euros depending on the versions chosen.

Finally, the model electric spring saw its price increase by 1,000 euros in the space of a few weeks, and is now sold at 18 690 euros.

The conflict in Ukraine aggravates the situation

Dacia explains this increase by both the shortage of microchips but also by the increase in raw material costwhich has never cost so much.

Finally, the conflict in Ukraine also plays a major role in the increase in component prices. Indeed, Russia and Ukraine are major suppliers of aluminum and nickel, essential elements for the design of modern automobiles.
