The Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlović, and the management of the company “Adriatic Metals” talked about geological research and the beginning of the construction of the mine in Raška.

Mihajlovic pointed out that mining in Serbia has great potential for investments and that it is planned to further improve the legal framework through amendments to the Law on Mining and Geological Research, while providing security and predictability for investors.

“We hope that you will continue with the successful realization of your projects in Serbia, and we, as the Government and the Ministry, are open for cooperation and support,” she told the company’s representatives.

Paul Cronin, General Manager and Director of “Adriatic Metals” from Great Britain, said that the company recognized Serbia as a successful economy with a good legal framework and great potential in the field of mining.

He assessed that the great thing for Serbia is that some of the world’s largest companies in the field of mining are already present in it, expressing his belief that “Adriatic Metals” can successfully realize the project of building a mine in Raska by 2024.

“Our company is already present in this region, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we have a strong focus on environmental protection and cooperation with the local community, and we will have the same approach for Serbia,” concluded Kronin.

The meeting was also attended by the Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Western Balkans, Zuzana Hargitai.
