Nasima Sultana said that 3,114 new cases of Novel Coronavirus or Covid-19 have been detected in the country. In addition, 42 more people have died due to this disease.
He said that in the last 24 hours (from 6 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday), 14,650 samples were tested. In these tests, 3,114 new coronavirus or Covid-19 infections were found in the body. As a result, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has increased to 1 lakh 56 thousand 391 people. In the last 24 hours, the detection rate is 21.28 percent.
On the previous day, 4,019 people were identified by testing 16,382 samples in the country in 24 hours till 8 am on Thursday. The detection rate was 21.89 percent. In other words, considering the sample test till 8 am on Friday, the detection rate is 63 percent less than the previous day.
Dr. Nasima said 42 more people died of coronavirus in the 24 hours leading up to 8am on Friday. So far 1,096 people have died in the country due to corona. The identified mortality rate is 1.26 percent. Of the latest 42 deaths, 32 were men and 10 were women. Of these, 31 died at the hospital and 11 at home.
It may be mentioned that the first case of coronavirus was identified in Bangladesh on March 6 and the first death occurred on March 16 after being infected with the virus.
