Xiaomi Mi Band 7 officially announced

Fitness trackers and smartwatches are very popular. Tech giant Xiaomi already has a few to its name, but now comes with a new fitness tracker: the Mi Band 7. It is – as the name suggests – the successor to the Mi Band 6. Xiaomi has made a number of noteworthy improvements , which we will walk you through in this article.

The amoled screen of the Mi Band 7 has grown a bit at 1.62 inches compared to the 1.56 inch screen of the Mi Band 6. That doesn’t sound like a drastic change, but according to Xiaomi, it results in image area that has increased by as much as 26 percent. The manufacturer has significantly overhauled the software for the larger screen. There are all kinds of new icons, animations and watch faces.

The strap is an important part of a wearable. Xiaomi has released new bands for the Mi Band 7, including a striking fluorescent band. In total you can buy the tracker in six different versions.

More health features

A fitness tracker is of course primarily intended to measure your health and exercise. That’s why Xiaomi has added all kinds of new health features to the Mi Band 7, including options to measure training load, recovery time and your maximum oxygen uptake. The usual sensors to measure your heart rate, sleep rhythm, cycle, breathing and much more are also available.

There are no fewer than 120 sport modes available, so that you can track as accurately as possible how many calories you burn, what your average heart rate is during certain sports and much more. The Mi Band 7 also closely monitors the oxygen level in your blood and you will receive a notification if it is lower than ninety percent.

According to Xiaomi, the Mi Band 7 lasts no less than 14 days with a full battery. You can also swim quietly with the fitness tracker on your wrist – provided you don’t dive deeper than 50 meters, but the chance does not seem too great to us.

It is not yet certain whether and when the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 will come to the Netherlands. The Mi Band 6 is available here for roughly 40 euro, so there is a good chance that the Mi Band 7 will also appear in our country. In China, the new fitness tracker costs 249 yuan. That is converted only 35 euro.
