New conditions for entry into the UK, starting today

The British authorities have revised the conditions for entering the country. As of Tuesday, all people, even those vaccinated, must have a PCR or negative antigen test done no more than 48 hours in advance.

According to the MFA, as of Tuesday, all persons, including full-fledged vaccinated persons, who intend to travel to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, must present at the entry into the British territory the certificate attesting the negative result of a VOCID test. 19 (PCR type or rapid antigen), performed no later than 48 hours before arrival.

Children up to the age of 11 inclusive are required to present a certificate attesting the negative result of a COVID-19 test.

“Thus, from 7 December 2021 at 04:00 GMT (6:00 RO), entry into the United Kingdom will be permitted subject to the following conditions:

-completion, in advance (maximum 48 hours before arrival), of the Passenger Locator Form, available at: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk;

– presentation, on entry into the United Kingdom, of a certificate attesting to the negative result of a COVID-19 test (PCR type or rapid antigen), carried out no more than 48 hours before the journey;

additional:

-for vaccinated persons: performing a PCR test on the second day after arrival and self-isolation at home until receiving the test result. If the test is positive, the person will need to continue self-isolation for a period of 10 days. In case of a negative result, the isolation period ends. The category of vaccinated persons includes persons who have received the full vaccination schedule (two doses – for vaccines that require two doses – or a single dose for those that require a single dose – for example Johnson / Janssen) and in which at least 14 days have elapsed since the last dose. There are no special regulations for people who have been given a third dose (booster). The type of vaccine administered must be on the list of those recognized in the United Kingdom: Oxford / AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson / Janssen, Sinovac-CoronaVac; Sinopharm Beijing; Covaxin. -for unvaccinated persons: booking and payment, prior to arrival, of performing 2 COVID-19 PCR tests (for the 2nd day on the 8th day of arrival) and self-isolation for a period of 10 days at the home address / the address declared on arrival “, transmitted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
