For the area “Involvement of citizens and civil society organizations in decision-making processes at the local level”, awards were given to Bijeljina, Banja Luka, Trebinje, Tešanj and Centar Sarajevo, and in the category “Transparency of financing civil society organizations from the budgets of local governments”, Banja Luka , Rudo, Center Sarajevo, Stari Grad Sarajevo and Vogošća.
Examples of good practice were noted during two evaluation cycles of partner local government units, conducted by the Federation of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska and the Federation of Municipalities and Cities of FBiH in cooperation with the ReLOaD team. The evaluation was done on the basis of pre-determined criteria submitted to the partner units of local self-government in the form of questionnaires and documentation that the local self-governments duly submitted.
The aim of the project is to summarize and present the achieved results of partner units of local self-government, but also to encourage the exchange of experiences and improvements in those units of local self-government where there is a need for that.
The project “Regional Program for Local Democracy in the Western Balkans” is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
