New apartment structure with no noise between floors even when running… What do you want it to look like?

Recently, an architect suggested an apartment structure in which noise between floors does not occur even when running.

On the 13th, Yega Architects’ Office announced the results of the ‘New Apartment for Resolving Noise Between Floors’, a survey conducted with 3065 people in 300 local community cafes and real estate cafes.

Respondents chose the living room (78%) as the most noisy place in an apartment.

Also, the bedroom (82.1%) was selected as a space that should not be affected by noise between floors.

Accordingly, the architect proposed a duplex-type apartment in which noise between floors was not transmitted by dividing the living space and the rest space.

The living room and kitchen, which generate the most noise between floors, were placed on the upper floor, and the bedroom space was placed on the lower floor.

When you sleep in your bedroom, the upper floor is your living room.

Therefore, the noise of the upper generation is not transmitted immediately.

In addition, a plan to apply a column-type structure instead of a wall-type structure in which the impact sound is transmitted to other generations through the wall has been added.

In the columnar structure, most of the floor vibration is distributed to the beams and columns, and the impact force transmitted to the lower floor is weakened.

The architect explained that by applying a patented method that prevents transmission of airborne sound and installing double pillars, not only a safe structure but also the transmission path of impact sound can be fundamentally blocked.

When asked if they were willing to pay more for such an apartment, 81.3% answered ‘yes’.

The architect predicted that the sale price of a two-story apartment building would rise by about 20 million won.

However, the additional pre-sale price that 79.9% of them could accept was less than 10 million won.

Meanwhile, an architectural firm official said, “The noise between floors is a problem with the structure of the apartment, and it is difficult to solve once it is built.”

He added, “It is necessary to improve the legal system so that the building is designed with an emphasis on noise between floors from the beginning.”
