Netgear introduced the Nighthawk RAXE500, its first router with Wi-Fi 6E

This year CES 2021 was also marked by new routers that came with support for Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax). In addition to the standard 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, it also uses the newly released 6 GHz frequency band. This has the advantage that it is not much used, so it should not be too disturbed for now. One of the new features supporting Wi-Fi 6E is the new one Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500. So it is a tri-band router that promises speeds of AXE11000, ie almost 11 Gbps. Specifically, it is 10.8 Gbps, which is divided into all three bands. At a 2.4GHz frequency it is a maximum of 1.2 Gbps, at 5GHz and 6GHz it is the same 4.8 Gbps, a total of 12 different Wi-Fi networks can be transmitted. At 6 GHz, the spectrum is also 200% wider than the standard dual-band.

At the back you will find one gigabit WAN port, which also supports Multi-Gig 1G + 1G configuration for faster Internet. Four GLAN ports are complemented by one configurable 2.5 / 1Gbit port and it is possible to aggregate two GLAN ports into each other (2 Gbps). There are also two USB 3.0 ports. The data processing is taken care of by a 4-core processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. In terms of security, of course, WPA3 is already supported. The price of that router was set at $ 599.99.
