Naturgy has launched a long-term natural gas tariff, called ‘Industrial Gas Commitment’in which it offers industrial customers a “stable and competitive price” in the current energy scenario, a price of 55 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), the company reported in a statement collected by Europa Press.
This energy rate occurs in a context marked by the escalation of raw material prices in international markets and seeks to “support the industrial sector, facilitating it to stabilize its energy budget for three years and consolidate its competitiveness”he indicated.
Thus, the industry will be able to benefit from this fixed price of 55 euros/MWh until the end of 2025, below the current prices of the European gas markets. The price of natural gas has been stressed in recent times, especially triggered by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, when it exceeded 200 euros/MWh. This Thursday it is trading at almost 72 euros/MWh in the Iberian operator (Mibgas).
The president of Naturgy, Francisco Reynés, indicated that with this initiative the company wants to “contribute to improving the competitiveness of Spanish companies, improving visibility and reducing their exposure to the volatility of international energy prices”. “We’ve done it before. and it is a demonstration of our commitment to customers and society”, added the group’s executive in this regard.
In September last year, Naturgy already launched the ‘Light Commitment Initiative’ for electricity, to deal with the effects of the high prices of the electricity pool, and which has involved the sale of all its inframarginal generation (equivalent to of four million households), below the 67 euros/MWh set by the Government.
