Nanoleaf brings adaptive lighting from iOS 14 to its Essentials line of LED luminaires

Of Nanoleaf we have spoken on other occasions. A system of LED lighting that uses different elements such as bulbs, LED strips or panels, which allow the user to create different environments, each with a precise control from mobile of colors and light.

A system that now improves with the arrival of an update for the application that we can download both in Android like in iOS and that has, among its characteristics, the one that brings the functionality of Adaptive lighting from Apple to its Essentials lighting line.

Compatible with adaptive lighting

It is not the first brand to offer this solution, for example the Eve Light Strip LED system now supports adaptive lighting in iOS 14. What the adaptive lighting system does is change the light tones according to the time of day. At the beginning of the day, the user sees how the lighting offers warm colors, while at noon these are colder to favor integration and when the system detects that it is getting dark, they return to warm tones to favor relaxation.

The improvement comes through an update to its own app that brings Apple’s adaptive lighting functionality. They can benefit from this improvement three products, which are included in the Essentials range. It is the case of the A19 bulb and 2M 80 and 1M 40 light strips one and two meters. For now they include Hexagons, Triangles and Mini Triangles as well as the Nanoleaf Canvas (square panels).

These devices are capable of producing color-based light and what is needed here, different shades of light in white colors, going from some warmer to others colder. This is what the Adaptive Lighting system needs to be able to adapt the warmth of the light according to the time of day.

In order to take advantage of this improvement, it will be necessary for both the bulbs and the LED strips in the Essentials range to have the latest firmware version (1.4.22 or 1.4.29 in the case of the light strip) and with version 5.2.0 of the Nanoleaf application.
