Naju-si spent 450 million won to create a forest road… ‘Auntie’s troop’ brought a flower shovel and swept the flower beds

There are thieves who even brought flower shovels and stole flower seedlings on the forest road created by the local government with a huge amount of money.

Recently, according to Naju City, around 5:00 pm on the 11th, 5 women, presumed to be in their 40s, stole flower seedlings from a beautiful flower bed in Bitgaram-dong Lake Park.

The park is a forest road created by the city of Naju at a cost of 450 million won. The city collects residents’ opinions and planted various flowers and plants around the forest road and its surroundings.

As a result of checking the closed-circuit video (CCTV), they parked their vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment promotion center in Bitgaram-dong and stole flower seedlings from various flower beds, including mugwort, gujeolcho, bibichu, and daylily.

Their crime became known when a citizen who witnessed the scene at the time posted an article and a photo on the online community of ‘Naju Innovation City Resident Autonomous Cafe’, saying ‘Flower theft near Lake Park’.

A citizen said, “I took a picture of five women in their 40s bringing spades and digging up flowers from the flower beds next to the mugwort flower field in front of Lake Park and putting them in a large shopping bag.” I want you to plant them back in their place,” she said.

An official from Naju City said, “The degree of theft of flower seedlings is more serious than expected, and we have decided to ask the police to investigate in order to sound an alarm about this senseless act.”

The police say they are reviewing whether it is possible to establish a ‘special theft’ because two or more people jointly committed the theft.
