Naim, a millionaire from Boalmari, runs a drug business

Naim Kazi of Kalaran village in Boalmari municipality of Faridpur is now a millionaire in drug business. He is constructing a two-storey building at home. He used to introduce himself in the area as an ‘assistant to the GRO’ of the Dhaka Judge’s Court. Rumors are circulating in the area after 1400 pieces of yaba were seized in Dhaka.

Recently, a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Sutrapur police station in the capital. After this case, the people of the area started opening their mouths against Naeem.

According to locals, drug business is the main source of income for Naeem Qazi. A two-storey building of two units is under construction in the village. His father’s name is Nazrul Kazi. He is a nominal small grocer. He used to sell goods by ferry. Father Nazrul Kazi said his son Naeem worked as an assistant to the GRO of the Dhaka Judge’s Court.

According to the case file, the Sutrapur Circle of the Narcotics Control Department raided Naim’s rented house at around 9 pm on February 23 on the basis of secret information. At that time, Naim was arrested for finding 1400 pieces of yaba in the pocket of his pants.

According to locals, Naeem used to collect banned yaba from Dhaka and sell it through people in his village. For this reason, the young people of the village could easily get a terrible drug like yaba if they raised their hands.

Raju Ahmed Chowdhury, inspector of the Narcotics Control Department at the Sutrapur Circle of the Dhaka Metropolitan Office (South), said, “We arrested Naim with 1,400 pieces of yaba after learning from a source.” Two more people have been arrested in the incident. A case has been filed against Naim and three others at Sutrapur police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
