Soon it will again be possible to buy a cash ticket in the Zealand buses and in Flextrafik.

Movia expects to reintroduce the possibility of paying with cash in buses and in Flextrafik on 1 September, when all restrictions on public transport are lifted.

It writes Movia in a press release.

»As it is the announcement now, from 1 September we can welcome in our buses, local trains and Flextrafik without restrictions, and we expect this to also apply to the cash. That we can drive without restrictions is a day of celebration for us at Movia, and of course also a milestone in the pandemic, «says Camilla Struckmann, Director of Commercial and Customers at Movia in the press release.

To avoid unnecessary risk of infection between passengers and drivers, Movia last year chose to eliminate the possibility of paying with cash.

It happened at the request of Benny Engelbrecht (S), who is Minister of Transport.

Movia’s buses have therefore been unmanned self-service environments since the spring of last year. Prior to that, cash accounted for just over five percent of Movia’s revenue.
