MOUNTAIN Everest Max | Review

In March 2020, Mountain launched the Everest Max, a fully customizable and absolutely revolutionary mechanical keyboard, whose design philosophy is based on four fundamental pillars that distinguish the German company: innovation, performance, aesthetics and modularity.

Designed from the ground up and patented, this keyboard offers extraordinary features including, for example, the keys with integrated display that can be assigned to any game or application to create infinite customizations and speed up launch, the modular Media Dock with display and circular dial to ensure the control and monitoring of your system, the removable numeric keypad with magnetic attachment and the base equipped with a multi-level height adjustment system to offer maximum ergonomics.

The double-layer anodized aluminum body forms a “premium” class structure enriched by elegant numerically controlled “milled” finishes to offer an impressive aesthetic result.

In order to further customize the Everest Max and increase its longevity, the PCB allows you to easily install or remove the switches without using a soldering iron.

As for connectivity, we find a USB 3.2 Gen1 hub that provides an additional port to limit the amount of unnecessary cables and extensions present in our configuration.

Obviously, all the typical features of a top-of-the-range keyboard are not lacking, namely the per-key RGB lighting at 16.7 million colors, the N-Key Rollover system with 100% anti-ghosting, a polling 1000Hz rate and integration with Base Camp proprietary software for complete customization, whose profiles can be saved on the on-board memory.

The version equipped with CHERRY MX SILENT Red switch has arrived on our test bench, the only one currently available with ITA layout, but we remind you that with different layouts from ours it is also possible to buy versions with CHERRY MX Brown, Red, Blue switches. and SPEED Silver.

Before getting to the heart of our review we leave you, as usual, to the technical table containing all the specifications.
