Motorola is working on a new top device: the Edge 30 Ultra. The smartphone gets some very powerful specifications.
Read on after the ad.
New Snapdragon chip and 144Hz screen
Motorola hasn’t released a striking high-end smartphone for a while, but that seems to be about to change. The manufacturer is working on the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. The device is known internally under the name ‘Rogue’ – or ‘rogue’ – and that is not for nothing.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra gets some impressive specs, says Technology News. To start with, the device has the next generation of Qualcomm’s most powerful smartphone chip: the Snapdragon 898. This processor has not yet been announced at the time of writing, but Qualcomm is holding an event from November 30 to December 2. This is where the chip is expected to be presented.
In addition to the fast chip, the Edge 30 Ultra will have a 144Hz screen. Most other smartphones have a 120Hz screen, which already looks very smooth. Motorola is taking that one step further.
The device also seems to score well in the battery area. The Edge 30 Ultra may have a hefty 5000 mAh battery, which can be fully charged within 35 minutes. Charging overnight is therefore a thing of the past with this device.
50 megapixel camera for razor-sharp photos
The cameras are extremely important to many users. Many people choose their new smartphone based on its camera quality. Motorola isn’t known for great smartphone cameras, but the Edge 30 Ultra might just change that.
The device will have a 50 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. The camera gets the same large sensor as the Huawei P50. This allows the lens to let in a lot of light, resulting in better image quality for photos and videos. In addition to the main lens, we also find a wide-angle lens and depth sensor on the back of the device.
Finally, Motorola attaches great importance to the selfie camera of the Edge 30 Ultra. It has a resolution of no less than 60 megapixels and is concealed in a small camera hole at the top of the screen.
There are no images of the device available yet and nothing is known about a possible announcement. So we have to be patient for a while before we can hold the device in our hands.
