Most people want an environmentally friendly, green home

The green idea, ie environmental protection, is considered important by Erste Bank’s customers, and the vast majority want their homes to be sustainable and “green”. They are not doing badly in upgrading their heating systems or energy-efficient household appliances, but there is still room for improvement in the use of renewable energy, for example, according to a recent survey by Erste Bank. The central bank’s FGS Green Home Loan is now a great help in creating sustainable homes.

It is extremely important for Erste Bank ‘s customers that their homes are sustainable and that environmental considerations are taken into account, according to a survey conducted by the financial institution with hundreds of customers. 88 percent of Erste’s customers are concerned about the topic: 7 percent of respondents said they still live in sustainable real estate, while 31 percent have already taken steps to live in such a home. And another 50 percent, while interested in a sustainable home, are limited by their financial means to implement it.

66 percent of respondents consider it important (rated 8-10 on a scale of 0-10) to use renewable energy in their home: for example, a solar panel, a solar collector, a heat pump. Thirty-six percent of those who responded to Erste Bank’s questionnaire said they were already using some form of renewable energy solution, while another 28 percent would be open to it, but they don’t have the money to do so yet.

84 percent of the respondents think that the modernization of the heating system is important, so it is not surprising that 70 percent stated that they have partially or completely modernized the heating in their home, and 14 percent have only financial resources to retain it – Eszter Konczér, Erste Bank head of market research.

Smart systems are also spreading. Fifty percent of respondents to the survey consider this important, and 37 percent already use some solution to control heating, cooling, or lighting in their home. The use of energy-saving light bulbs and household appliances is considered important by almost 90 percent of those surveyed, and about 85 percent use some or all of these devices at home.

Environmental considerations are also important to customers in other areas of life. Separate waste collection, for example, is considered essential by 86 per cent, and 58 per cent are very, and a further 22 per cent, in part, collect garbage in this way. Environmentally friendly solutions are also playing an increasingly important role in transport: almost 80 per cent have stated that they walk on public transport, and almost 60 per cent use public transport if they have the opportunity to do so. Among the respondents, electric cars are also used in a large proportion (27 per cent) and many of them, 35 per cent, also use public car transport on a more or less regular basis.

The research shows that Erste’s customers are concerned with the topic of environmental protection, sustainable home, but there are also many people whose financial means limit the realization of this. The FGS Green Home Housing Loan can also be a solution for them: since October 4, customers can also apply for the loan available on extremely favorable terms at Erste Bank. The loan amount that can be used for the purchase or construction of a new apartment with a minimum BB energy rating can be a minimum of HUF 4 million and a maximum of HUF 70 million, the transaction interest rate is fixed at 2.5 percent over the entire term. Those interested can find answers to their questions on Erste Bank’s website, where they can also check whether they comply with legal requirements.
