In Daugavpils, the implementation of a project to improve the energy efficiency of the building of the former Innovation Center at Vienibas Street 30 continues. To date, most of the planned work has already been completed.

Work has begun on the dismantling of the site cover, earthworks are underway in the courtyard of the building, work is underway to insulate the basement of the building, concreting the supporting walls and steps, repairing cracks on the facade, etc. It should be noted that unforeseen work was identified in the process that must be completed for successful object into operation.

The building is not only working to improve energy efficiency, but also redevelopment of the interior, namely the alteration of a small cinema hall for a new digital exposition, as well as the redevelopment of some premises for the needs of the Daugavpils Innovation Center. As part of the project, the adjacent territory of the building will also be put in order.

The Daugavpils Innovation Center plans to expand the possibilities for placing the exposition, and part of the exhibits will be placed in the large hall of the building, which was not provided for by the project. Therefore, technical documentation will be developed to ensure the construction of a horizontal platform, the installation of a ramp and a lift for the disabled, the laying of electrical networks to connect the exhibits, as well as the decoration of the large hall.

The total cost of the project is 2,717,283.50 euros, of which 637,106.06 euros are funds from the European Regional Development Fund, 33,729.17 euros are state funding, 593,364.14 euros are for self-government. Non-related expenses amount to EUR 1,453,084.16.
