Yesterday, February 18, at an extraordinary meeting of the City Duma, the deputies considered the issue of allocating a one-time supplement to several categories of employees of city preschool educational institutions for work in a pandemic.

The deputies decided that all teachers, teacher assistants, nannies and kindergarten nurses will receive additional payments. Moreover, funding will be allocated both from self-government funds and from the state budget.

According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers on the allocation of funds from the state budget program for unforeseen expenses, it was decided to allocate additional payments to teachers, teacher assistants and nannies.

In turn, the Daugavpils municipality, having analyzed the risks in preschool educational institutions, decided to assign a similar surcharge to nurses. In their daily work, they contact all employees, monitoring the implementation of hygiene requirements throughout the institution, as well as visiting groups, monitoring the health of staff and children, overseeing the implementation of epidemiological recommendations and a disinfection plan, and perform many other important functions.

The surcharge is € 300 per bet. The Department of Education draws attention to the fact that this amount also includes the mandatory state social insurance contribution of the employer (VSAOI) 57.26 euros. Therefore, each employee working full-time, that is, 40 hours per week, will receive an amount calculated from a gross surcharge of 242.74 euros, and this final amount will depend on the deducted taxes.

The state earmarked subsidy for one-off payments is 295,027 euros, the financing of the local government is 10,185 euros. More than 750 teachers, 250 teacher assistants and nannies, and 30 nurses will receive additional payments. Payments will be made in March.

Assessing the general situation with the morbidity of children and employees of Daugavpils kindergartens, the Department of Education notes that it has improved compared to the last months, but still remains unstable. Moreover, most of the infection occurs not in educational institutions, but at home. In absolutely all cases, the parents became the source of the disease in children, and not vice versa.
