From the Association of Oil Companies of Montenegro Boris Spalević, for the RTCG Portal, said that compared to working days, the traffic at gas stations on Sundays is higher by an average of about 50 percent. Of the standard groceries, most are coffee to take away, croissants, sweets, snacks, water and canned food.

Based on the amendments to the Law on Internal Trade, on Sundays and holidays shopping can be done in pharmacies, specialty stores or kiosks selling bread, bakery products and cakes, flowers, souvenirs, plant protection products or funeral equipment, gas stations and shops for retail purchases within petrol stations.

Compared to working days, the traffic at petrol stations on Sunday is higher by about 50% on average, in urban areas it is even higher, while outside urban areas this traffic is similar to other days.“, Said Spalevic.

That, he says, primarily depends on the location of the gas station itself.

Among the standard foodstuffs that citizens buy the most are mainly takeaway coffee, croissants, sweets, snacks, water, canned food, chocolates…

There are no rules, cigarettes or some small necessities are bought, while it also depends on the time of year, so in summer ice creams and juices are most in demand, and in winter pellets, more antifreeze and anti-freeze glass liquids, etc.“, Says Spalevic.

He pointed out that the stores at gas stations have expanded the range of products.

All gas stations have expanded their range and this is a trend all over the world, so we hope that gas stations will have an increasing offer in the future, from prepared food, sandwiches, pastries to renting space for business meetings and the like.“, Said Spalevic.

He points out that crowds on Sundays at gas stations are not a phenomenon because market shopping takes place mainly as a supplement to buying items that are needed by those who refuel or the needs of those who want to refill a missing item during the week because supermarkets are closed on Sundays.
