Modularization as a basis for standardization and greater automation

This year’s event EF | A – Eplan Forum for Automated Engineering – will take place in a hybrid format. As in previous years, the focus will be on modularisation, standardization and automation. These topics are of great importance to management and users from the ranks of designers and constructors of machines and technological equipment – after all, modularization is the key to standardization, and ultimately to a higher level of automation.

Attendees, both on-site and online, will receive tips and strategies for their own next steps on the road to automating engineering processes.

Save the date: EF|A 2022, 28 and 29 September 2022

Whether live in Düsseldorfu or on the Internet during on-line přenosu around the world, anyone interested can connect with other industry experts during the EF|A Forum. Eplan has created a special space for this, because the full potential of automation grows not only from practical examples and presentations of users from all over the world, but also from personal dialogue between participants. The event will be broadcast live – and international attendees can take advantage of the simultaneous translation on offer.

Focus: Meetings, Brainstorming, Discussions Presentations, workshops and hands-on demonstrations will provide ideas and insights for everyone from senior management to software users on a wide range of topics including:

  • strukturování strojů a výrobků,
  • standardization of engineering works,
  • automatic creation of diagrams and drawings, arrangement of switchboards, bill of materials and other production documentation,
  • nážu vodiců na digitalm dvojčeti,
  • rozhovorů a propojení s ostatními osobami s právem rozhodovat o projektech.

If you design a machine or production line as modular from the beginning of the development process, you lay the foundation for standardization. The goal is the highest possible degree of automation, towards which we aim with tools and methodologies developed in cooperation with customers.

Event participants will even have the opportunity to try out how it works in practice. “Product preparation and production between digitally connected partners” – in a lecture on this topic, Achenbach Buschhütten will present how they achieve this goal with a modular construction kit. CEO of Odego Dr. Sandra Szech will give a lecture “How to successfully develop construction blocks” and will share her experience with methodical development and evaluation of modular systems. Aartec Engineering and Sollich will give attendees an overview of their practical applications, both on-site and online.

Other companies, including Grundfos and CadCabel, will also share their practical applications with EF|A participants. Eplan experts will complement these examples with methods and strategies for modularization, standardization and automation of engineering works using eBuild, Eplan Cogineer and EEC solutions.

Vyzkoušení v praktických ukázkách

One of the main points for online participants are the hands-on sessions, during which users can try out the Eplan software for themselves. Generating schematics or testing machine wiring on a 3D model: all this will be available for the participants to try out live to get first impressions and an overview of the software immediately. Eplan partners, including Configit, Encoway and SAE, will also be represented by presentations and virtual partner stands. Their representatives will be available on site and virtually to answer questions from attendees.
