Modernized MG HS

Last month, MG announced the restyled crossover HS, which has now been officially presented in Europe.

As expected, the front part underwent the biggest visual changes, with improved LED lights, a larger mask and a completely new bumper, while the rear bumper was changed and modernized lights.

All this with a new design of 18-inch alloy wheels and a wider range of colors (including the new Urban Gray color).

Standard equipment in the UK market includes a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, which MG says has been enhanced with “faster and smoother functionality”. Air conditioning, integrated satellite navigation, rear parking camera with sensors, automatic wipers and keyless entry are also available in this version.

Next comes the Trophy package, which includes heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting in the cabin, tinted windows and an upgraded audio system.

Safety systems such as automatic braking, pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot detection are standard across the HS range.

The engine is a 1.5-liter turbo petrol with 159 HP, with a six-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed automatic.

Prices in the UK market start from £23,495 for the standard SE package.

The offer also remains the MG HS PHEV version, with a combination of the aforementioned 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 159 HP and an electric motor with 121 HP (range in electric mode is 51 km).
